Now in its 3rd year in Montreal downtown, the Great Christmas Market is already a huge hit with locals and tourists alike.

The event takes place in the Quartier des spectacles from November 22nd to December 30th. It features dozens of installations, including some forty decorated chalets in which craftmen present their wares. You’ll also find the gourmet chalets for which the event is already famous.

Take a stroll through the sumptuous Winter Garden, and try to choose from among the delights on offer: Swiss fondue, churros, maple taffy, raclette sandwiches, pretzels, hot chocolate…

The Great Christmas Market is visited by around 80,000 people every weekend.

The signature show

This winter, let’s immerse ourselves once again in the fascinating story of the Elf Kingdom with La Lutinerie’s signature “Christmas in Montreal” show. 

It takes place every evening at 5:00 p.m. every weekend, then every evening from December 21th to the 24th on the outdoor stage of the Great Christmas Market.

An original creation by Line Basbous. The show is co-written with Johanna Onestas, with musical contributions by Alexandre Lacomme, and directed by Sophie Clermont.

The Saturday night concerts

Every Saturday evening until December 21st, the great Christmas concerts take place at 8:00 p.m., and this year feature Quebec artists such as the Imani Gospel Singers, David Marino and Shy Shy, Florence K and Natalie Choquette, Petitom and King Melrose.
