Sustainability at the Heart of Our Christmas Markets
At La Lutinerie, we’ve eliminated single-use cups from all our Christmas markets. Our ambition is simple: to create joyful, inclusive, and environmentally responsible events.
Reusable Cups and Rewarded Loyalty
This year, loyalty is something to celebrate! Bring back one of your collector cups from past editions of the markets and get 10% off all beverages.Don’t have a collector cup? No problem, bring any reusable cup and save $1 per drink. Every small action helps us reduce waste and make Christmas in Montréal more eco-friendly.
Easy Access by Public Transit
Our markets are free to access and conveniently located near metro stations. It’s an easy way to lower your carbon footprint while simplifying your visit.
We’ve designed our markets with everyone in mind: Stroller- and wheelchair-friendly layouts, cleared walking paths, and rest areas throughout. And because admission is free, everyone can enjoy the holiday magic.
Local Artisans & Short Supply Chains
Our markets showcase the region’s creativity. Most of our artisans come from Greater Montréal, their goods are sourced within 100 km of the event. Supporting local means supporting entrepreneurs and building a stronger community.
On-site Sorting & Visitor Participation
Sorting stations make recycling and composting easy. Please follow the signs and use the appropriate bins. With your cooperation, we can meaningfully reduce the environmental footprint of the Christmas markets.
Did You Know?
Over 70% of food options at our markets are vegetarian, and around 30% are vegan. This conscious choice lowers our carbon impact while offering a delicious, ethical, and festive experience.

Our approach is guided by the BNQ 9700-253 sustainable event management standard, which we are actively working toward. Each season, we measure, adjust, and improve our practices — to deliver greener events, year after year.
